Fly fishing in North Georgia sounds like such a tranquil treat for both the novice and expert fisher-person. 400 year old trees, really? Now that is some virgin timberland that with a few hour drive would make for a GREAT day, or more, of hiking!! Thanks for sharing!

Wilderness Wildlife Week 2012 is flying along -- and there's not any snow! The fun, entertainment and education continue through Saturday, January 14.

Bears are a popular topic, and there's a good posting at www.twc.ca about how to behave around them -- carefully, respectfully and cordially. :-)

I found this to be a most interesting article, not only from a beautiful surroundings standpoint, but also from ALSO getting to see an Eagles nest and getting to see them raise thier young whilst sitting among one of the picturesque porches. Starting it off with a nice 2 mile hike. Thanks for sharing!

Have been on both the Spring and Fall Wine Highway weekends in the past. Each has it's own very "special" attractions. Will be in Helen for Friday night...and plan to travel to the majority of the wineries over the two days.

Don't forget there are also wineries along the way which are not "officially" on the tour. One of these is Three Sisters Winery, Dahlonega, GA. Just over the hill from Frogtown, Doug Paul greets you and offers you a "taste" as well. He's one of our favorite folks...

Each of these is just down the road from Blackstock Winery...wonder if they will be offering Wreath Making Classes again this year???

THIS sounded like a GREAT event to attend for the occasional eater as well as those who pride themselves on trying everything under the grill..or sun. None the less, I MUST be proactive and reap the benifits of the inside story talk that you so, in this case, 'tastefully' describe.
